Life Right Now

Still holding down the fort in Shakopee, MN - out in the southwestern metro, where the suburbs meet the prairie and traffic occasionally involves farm equipment.

Home base is a full house: married, two boys (13 and 18), and the kind of controlled chaos I've learned to call "normal." My oldest is wrapping up his senior year and heading off to college later this year - which is simultaneously exciting, terrifying, and a little surreal. Proud doesn't quite cover it.

My younger one is 13, which means I have exactly zero quiet evenings for the foreseeable future. Wouldn't change it.

What I'm Building

Two projects in perpetual rotation, as always:

This blog

The never-finished, always-evolving thing you're reading right now. Posts go up when inspiration strikes - or when I've finally debugged something interesting enough to write up.

usmilitarygamers.com

The veteran gaming community I own and run. The site is always being poked at, expanded, or rebuilt in some corner. The Discord is active and that's what keeps the lights on.

On My Mind

The future of AI. It's everywhere and unavoidable at this point - and I mean that in both the annoying and genuinely fascinating ways. I'm spending a lot of time thinking about where it actually fits: what it changes, what it doesn't, what risks get undersold, and what potential gets overhyped. No clean conclusions yet. That feels appropriate.

On the practical side, I've been actively digging into:

Microsoft Copilot Agents
Building and extending AI agents in Microsoft 365
Entra ID Identity Governance
PIM, access reviews, and entitlement management

This is a /now page. What's here reflects what's actually happening, not what I'm aspiring to.
